Material Introduction: HIPS Iran Petrochemical 7240 is a high‑impact polystyrene modified by adding rubber components such as polybutadiene into polystyrene. It features favorable impact resistance and good processability, and produces opaque finished parts.

Injection Molding Parameters

Process Parameter Recommended Range Unit Remarks & Descriptions
Barrel Temperature (Melt Temp) 190‑240 °C Recommended processing temperature:190‑240°C. Due to rubber component in HIPS, relatively higher injection pressure and molding temperature are preferred.
Mold Temperature (Mold Temp) 10‑60 °C  
Injection Pressure Sufficient holding pressure is required.
Drying Treatment (Optional) 2‑3 h at 71°C (160°F) HIPS resin absorbs moisture slowly, so drying is generally unnecessary. Drying is recommended if the material gets damp.

Other Notes

White‑edge defects may occur on HIPS molded parts, which can be improved by increasing mold temperature and clamping force, and reducing holding pressure and holding time.
